I’ve been working in the games industry as an environment artist since 2016 and for the past three years I’ve been learning to code in my spare time.
I have really loved creating small games, learning about all aspects of game development and realising my ideas. As I’ve gained confidence I’m beginning to take my programming more seriously. There are only so many hours in a day and I’d really like to dedicate more of those hours to advancing my coding skills. To do this I’d like to get in a professional environment, working with and learning from other experienced developers.
I know that I still have a long way to go and that I don’t have a comp sci degree to back me up, so I’m reaching out to get an idea of where I’m at with my skills and how viable it would be for me to make a career switch.
If you have any advice, or would simply like to chat game development, please don’t hesitate to reach out and say hello.
The best place to catch me is on discord, #dom2365 or I will eventually check my email at [email protected]
